Cappagh GAA Christmas Day Goal Mile

posted 12 Dec 2013, 02:22 by Peter Kennedy   [ updated 12 Dec 2013, 02:25 ]

What better way to start off Christmas day than with a stroll or run around the pitch on Wednesday 25th December from 10:00am - 13:00pm. We're holding the GOAL Mile for the first time in Cappagh this year and it would be great to start off with a bang and raise a nice few bob while we're at it! You can walk, jog or run and can do one or ten miles - depending on how much pudding you plan to eat later in the day! Just turn up from 10am on-wards, bring family and friends and a couple of euro, head around the pitch for a mile or so (we'll have it marked out for you), collect your certificate to say that you've completed the GOAL Mile, stay for a quick cuppa if you want and then head home to your turkey and ham. We'll even time the more competitive of you!! We'll be there until 1 pm so plenty of time to get it in after morning mass :) For those of you who'd like to raise a little bit more you can hit up your co-workers and family between now and Christmas Day! Any queries contact Breeda Gorman on Facebook or on (087) 2534256. Looking forward to seeing you all then!

Hard luck to our Minor ladies

posted 2 Dec 2013, 09:31 by Peter Kennedy   [ updated 2 Dec 2013, 09:31 ]

Hard luck to our Minor ladies who were playing with Balyna ladies in the replay against Sarsfields. Despite a fantastic come back they were bet by a goal. Despite losing today these girls should be very proud, especially our own Orla Keoghegan, Joanne Mulligan, Yvonne Leonard, Emma Jane o'Shea, Aine Mulligan, Aoife Mulligan & Avril Mulligan.

One thing for sure the future of Ladies football in Cappagh is looking bright with the quality and skill of this bunch of girls.

What a match!! Minor final, Balyna v Sarsfields went to extra time and still level. Will have to meet again. Great football by all Balyna players including our own Emma Jane, Aoife, Orla, Yvonne, Joanne , Aine and Avril.

With a final score last night of 4-6 to 1-6 on a very cold night in Hawkfield, well done to our 12 lads who are apart of the Division Two Winners St Edwards panel. Our new champions , along side their St. Edwards team mates are Matthew English in goals, Eoin Leonard, David Murphy and Mikey Curran in defence, Dean Hosey, Patrick Jackman and Killian Comerford in forwards.
