Our Pride of the Parish that we ran at the weekend was a fantastic success, despite the dreadful weather huge crowds came down to watch Newtown bring the cup back to the village.

 An event like this doesn't go so well without the hard work of our hard working committee. Lots of people helped us out on the day, the ladies who managed the tuck shop, the lads who helped to get the grounds ready, our ref's, Ella Houlihan & Breeda Gorman who took scores for us and match reports, our photographers, Linda C Grogan, Declan Dillon and Ian Barclay, lads who did the gate and many many more. A huge thank you to you all.

We will run Pride of the Parish as an annual event given the huge amount of positive feedback we have received and will set a date for earlier in the year as soon as intercounty and league fixtures are out.

 So where will the cup end up in 2014????
